What's the Leave Metric Analysis report?
The Leave Metric Analysis report gives you various ways to view and analyse your employee leave data. There are five tabs (Leave Metric, Leave Trend, Employee Leave Data, Org Component Leave Data and Leave Analysis Tree), which are detailed below.
- The report units are 'leave taken in days' (that is, a day that leave was taken. The number of hours could be different).
- If you hover over a metric, you'll also be able to see the leave taken in hours.
- To drill through to the employee leave details, right-click a metric to open the menu, then select Drill Through > Leave Details.
- This report refreshes every 24 hours.
- Row Level Security (RLS) access is applied (you'll need to add the report to the relevant Security Profiles if required).
What does each tab do?
Tab one: Leave Metric
The Leave Metric tab shows visualisations by leave type, location, employment status, organisation component, position establishment, generation, and gender. Use the date filters to select year, quarter or date range by leave date. You can also view the comparison of leave taken by the selected year vs the previous year and the average based on the filters selected.
TIP: Hold down the shift key on your keyboard and click to select across multiple metrics. For example, select Annual Leave on Leave taken by Leave Type metric, then hold down the shift key and select a Position Establishment.
Tab two: Leave Trend
The Leave Trend tab shows the days of leave taken as a trend over the year, quarter, and per week of the year. In addition, you can select multiple leave types, filter by year, and leave date range.
Tab three: Employee Leave Data
The Employee Leave Data tab shows a summary of the number of days and hours of leave taken by an employee. You can filter by leave type, year, and leave date range.
Tab four: Org Component Leave Data
The Org Component Leave Data tab shows a summary of leave taken, grouped by organisation component. You can filter by leave type, year, and leave date range.
Tab five: Leave analysis tree
The Leave Analysis Tree tab lets you "build your own tree".
You can adjust your view of the tree by zooming in and out of the visual using your mouse roller or dragging the visual left and right.
How to "build your own tree"
- Hover over the end of a leave bar (purple bar furthest to the right).
- Click the '+' that appears. A list of employee attributes will appear.
- Select an employee attribute to filter by (for example, Leave Type).
- To drill through to the employee Leave Details, right-click the purple bar with the attribute filter that will have appeared, then select Drill Through > Leave Details.
If you select the wrong attribute filter, hover over the title of the filter type (with the green line) and select the 'x' button to remove the filter (you may need to zoom out or drag the visual to the left to see the 'x').
Employee Leave Details
(To drill through to the employee leave details, right-click a metric to open the menu, then select Drill Through > Leave Details).
When you drill down to the employee leave details table, you'll see Employee Number, Name, Leave Type, Total Leave Days, Total Leave Hours, Leave Start Date, Leave Status, as well as standard employee information (Payroll, Organisation Component, Location).
