Owners are Organisation Components that represent the “owner” of the organisation
This guide is for setting up Organisation Components that are Owners.
An Owner represents the “owner” of the organisation and is used to connect to Employees and Position Establishments. They also represent the head of an Organisation Structure, if you have one.
When Organisation Components are configured, you should have at least one ‘Owner’ which may or may not be a ‘Legal Entity’ too.
TIP
Before you start setting up a Owner Organisation Component, these need to be created first:
Locations (if you want to connect Organisation Components to locations)
Autonumbers (if you’re using them)
How to add an Organisation Component
Go to BUSINESS > ORGANISATION COMPONENTS > ORGANISATION COMPONENTS to open the organisation components catalogue.
Select Add component to open the ADD ORGANISATION COMPONENT panel.
Select a component type by opening the COMPONENT TYPES backpack and selecting a component from the list.
You should select the type at level one if it’s an Owner.
Enter the COMPONENT NAME.
Each organisation component must have a unique name for each component type.
(Optional) Enter the COMPONENT DESCRIPTION.
Set ACTIVE to Yes or No.
If set to No, organisation component can't be used throughout Jemini until ACTIVE is changed to Yes.
If set to Yes, the organisation component will be available immediately.
(Optional) Select the LOCATION.
LOCATION is an optional feature that enables you to filter or categorise your organisation components by location when reporting.
(Optional) Select the FUNCTION.
FUNCTION is another optional feature that enables you to filter or categorise your organisation components by location when reporting.
It can also be used to sort your organisation components by Function rather than Type in the Organisation Components view.
Set LEGAL ENTITY to Yes or No.
If the component is a legal entity, follow these instructions instead: How to add Legal Entity Organisation Components.
Set OWNER to Yes.
At least one Organisation Component needs to be selected as the Owner – this determines the name of the structure and where employees will sit. Most customers using Jemini will only have one Owner.
(Optional) Select an EMPLOYEE AUTONUMBER.
Any employee connected to this Owner will have their employee identification number automatically generated for them using the settings in the selected autonumber.
(Optional) Select a POSITION AUTONUMBER if required. These can be set up in Business Core Tables.
Any position connected to this Owner will have it’s position identification number automatically generated for it using the settings in the selected autonumber.
Select the Green Tick Button to save and close the panel.
The organisation component will be added to the list of organisation components in the catalogue. These are sorted by Type by default. Repeat the above steps until you’ve created all the organisations components you need.
