Typically, an employee can submit a leave request through Your Jemini. In some cases, you may need to do it on their behalf through the employee application. Learn how below.
How to add a Leave Request
- Go to PEOPLE > EMPLOYEES.
- Select the employee you need to add leave to.
- Go to ACTION > LEAVE to open the employee leave application.
- Select Tasks to open the Tasks view.
- Select Add leave request to open the ADD LEAVE REQUEST panel.
There are two areas where you can find the Add leave request button:
a. If your employee doesn't have any leave requests within the selected date range, the button will be in the middle of the screen.
b. If your employee does have visible leave requests, the button will be on the top left of the screen, above Controls.
- Select the LEAVE TYPE that you want to create leave for on behalf of the employee.
- If the employee has multiple leave plans for the same leave type, the LEAVE PLAN setting will appear. Select the desired leave plan from the list.
- Select the REQUEST TYPE. In this case it will be Leave request.
- Select the DATE RANGE.
a. Navigate to the month when your employee needs to take their leave.
b. Select the first day of their leave.
c. Select the last day of their leave.
If the employee only needs to take one day of leave, select the day they want to take leave for, then select it again to confirm.
- The SELECTED DATES will appear once you've made your selection – check these are correct. If not, go back to the calendar and reselect the dates.
- The NUMBER OF LEAVE HOURS FIRST DAY and NUMBER OF LEAVE HOURS LAST DAY will be based on your employee's regular work pattern. If, for example, they're only taking a half-day of leave, you can adjust the number of hours to reflect the actual hours of leave they'll be taking.
- The BALANCE METRICS calculates the number of hours, days or weeks leave:
a. that they have before they take the leave that you're currently adding.
b. that they've taken for the leave that you're currently adding.
c. that they have after they've taken the leave that you're currently adding. - If you need to supply EVIDENCE for why they're taking leave, you can upload a file.
- Add notes in the MANAGER NOTES section if necessary.
- Select the Green Tick Button to save and close the panel. The card will automatically move to Done.
How to delete a leave request
If the leave hasn't been paid, you can delete a leave request.
If the leave has been paid, you'll need to add a leave reversal. Refer to How to add a leave reversal request.
Leave requests can't be edited. If you want to edit the request, you'll need to delete it then create a new one with the changes.
- Go to PEOPLE > EMPLOYEES.
- Select the employee you need to add leave to.
- Go to ACTION > LEAVE to open the employee leave application.
- Select Tasks to open the Tasks view.
- Select the leave event card you need to delete.
The dates in the Controls will default to six months. If you can't see leave events in the Tasks view because they're outside of those dates, use the Controls to change the FROM DATE and TO DATE to match the dates of the leave events. You can also FILTER BY LEAVE TYPE.
- Select the Delete Button to delete the leave request.
- Read the Confirmation message and select Go ahead.
