How to give users access to new reports

Navigation: System | Security Profiles

Whenever a new report is added to Jemini, you'll need to add it to the relevant Security Profiles to enable user access.

This procedure ensures that only authorised users can view specific reports, enhancing data security and privacy.

TIP

We recommend you check for new reports in each Jemini software update to make sure you have the latest list. To learn about the latest updates, refer to the release notes in What's ready to test in Jemini? or New Jemini features and enhancements.

How to give users access to new reports

  1. Go to System > Security Profiles.

  2. Open the required Security Profile.

  3. Select the Action button (top left corner).

  4. Select Edit this security profile. The SECURITY PROFILE panel will open.

  5. Open the Select report backpack under REPORTS (you may need to scroll down the panel to find it if other reports have already been added to the Security Profile).

  6. Select the new reports as required (see Full list of reports below).

  7. Select the Green Tick Button to close REPORT panel.

  8. Select the Green Tick Button to close SECURITY PROFILE panel.

  9. Inform the users that they now have access to the reports.

Chat with one of our consultants or raise an iHelp through Infusion for any assistance.

TIP

You can check which reports are already added to a Security Profile or User Profile by viewing the Power BI Report Catalogue* report in System > Reporting.

Why is there an asterisk (*) at the end of some report names?

If you see an asterisk (*) at the end of a report name, it's a signal that the report displays information about all employees, no matter your access level. This specifically applies to reports without sensitive data.

Most reports have Row Level Security (RLS) applied, to ensure sensitive information remains secure. If there's no asterisk, it means RLS is on.

What are Row Level Security (RLS) reports?

Row Level Security (RLS) is a data protection measure that's used to only show report rows (or entries) that a user is allowed to see. This is particularly useful in cases where different people have different levels of access. For example, a manager might only see entries about their team. RLS prevents unauthorised users from accessing sensitive information.

A user's access to employee and payroll information can be filtered in User Profiles. To learn how to do this, go to How to filter employee and payroll access.
